then there is the DIO group (Do It Ourselves) who offer lots of Skill Sharing projects - FOR FREE!

Then there are the Transition town projects which are kept affordable (at about £3 of £4)...

Then there are loads of volunteer opportunities for engaging in projects and the like...

Embercombe (educational trust towards Exeter has great volunteer weekends)
Hillyfield (new woodland project on Dartmoor meeting on 2nd weekend of the month to care for the trees / land and work together)
Bowden House Community (gardening mornings on Thursdays and work weekends on the first sat of the month at community project just outside Totnes)
